Scribes
“Excellence in Documentation”
BestPractices supports using scribes to assist our ED physicians. With more health systems investing in EMRs, we find our scribe program can be a potent practice enhancement to support patient flow and sustain productivity during, and after, the conversion.
The purpose of the Medical Scribe is to promote optimal patient care by completing the physicians’ documentation in a timely and accurate manner. It is the scribe’s responsibility to ensure that each section of the medical record is completed in full and documented appropriately. The scribe will assist the physician in maintaining flow in the Emergency Department by keeping the chart updated with completed diagnostic test results and prompting the physician on test result availability.
Scribe Recruitment
We are always recruiting for Scribe candidates for Northern Virginia and West Virginia. Qualified applicants must have a strong desire to pursue a career in the medical field and be available to work full time for a minimum of one year. Additionally, we recommend but do not require a background in Medical Terminology and Anatomy/Physiology before employment.
Medical Scribes will receive in-depth first hand exposure to patient care while working in a fast paced team focused environment. Scribes are paid on an hourly basis, have opportunities for advancement and receive recommendations from talented physicians boarded in Emergency Medicine.
Please email all requests for our application and program information to scribes@best-practices.com. We accept applications on a rolling basis and are an equal opportunity employer.
